Akosua Mawuse Amakwah is  Senior Lecturer in teh Department of Industrial Art, CABE, KNUST. She holds a BA Art (Textiles) from KNUST and a Master of Design (MDES) in Professional Design for Textiles and Fashion from Heriot-Watt Univerty, Edinburgh. She is currently a doctoral student pursuing Fashion Design Technology at KNUST. Her Doctoral research is on 'integration of Sustainable Fashion Production in SMEs in Ghana through teh Circular Economy Appraoch'.

She currently serves on a number of boards and committees including: KNUST Academic Board (NON-PROFESSOIRAL Representative, CABE); KNUST Policy Champions (Mentorship, Recruitmenmt, Admissions, and Ethical Review Policies); KNUST Sports Mnagement Committee;  Textiles and Apparel Skill Sector Board (TVET); Organisation of Phd Forum at VIII Sustainable Design Symposium, Brazil (December, 2021) among others.

In April 2021, she was a Resource Person at an Invited Talk at Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom during the Art and Design Research Lectrure, via Zoom.

She has also worked on a number of projects for GIZ, a German Company in Ghana, betwwen 2018 and 2020.

She faciliates Fashion Desiign and Marketing related courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate. 

She love to read, mentor, facilitate, design, sew and cook. She functions well in a tidy and organised environment.
